Custom-Made 4-Way Stretch Fabric Manufacturer and OEM Partner in China

FabricsTrades manufactures and sources custom 4-way stretch fabrics for activewear, outdoor apparel, fashion, uniforms, accessories, and technical textile applications. Our current OEM range includes sustainable polyester fabrics, sustainable nylon fabrics, and custom-made or printed Lycra fabrics.

Certifié Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

Règlement sur les tissus 2024-2026 & Mise à jour de conformité

OEM stretch fabrics must be assessed according to their exact composition, recycled-content claim, dyes, prints, coatings, water-repellent treatments, intended application, and destination market. A fiber name or sustainability claim alone does not establish regulatory compliance. Buyers should define their target markets early and request order-specific documentation, declarations, certifications, and test reports.

The EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation introduces a framework for future product-specific ecodesign requirements and Digital Product Passports. Textile and apparel supply chains should prepare reliable records covering material composition, recycled content, chemical inputs, production stages, suppliers, chain of custody, and supporting test data. The detailed obligations applicable to a particular textile product will depend on the relevant delegated requirements and implementation schedule.

Global textile requirements are also changing across chemical management, restricted substances, PFAS, traceability, environmental claims, recycled content, product safety, and supply-chain due diligence. For polyester, nylon, and Lycra fabric programs, compliance should be reviewed at the individual material and finish level—especially when water repellency, stain resistance, printing, coating, or other chemical treatments are requested.

Why Choose FabricsTrades as Your 4-Way Stretch Fabric Supplier?

With more than 15 years of hands-on textile experience, our team understands that four-way stretch performance depends on more than the percentage of spandex shown on a specification sheet. We control yarn selection, denier, weave construction, warp and weft tension, dyeing temperature, heat-setting conditions, and finishing add-on to achieve the required extension, recovery, hand feel, and dimensional stability. We support polyester/spandex and nylon/spandex woven fabrics for activewear, outdoor apparel, uniforms, trousers, dresses, and technical applications. Buyers can specify composition, GSM, width, color, print, water repellency, breathability, recycled content, and performance requirements. Before bulk shipment, available quality checks can include fabric weight, usable width, colorfastness, shrinkage, stretch and recovery, tear strength, and appearance inspection. For regulated markets, we can coordinate documentation and third-party testing according to the agreed purchase specification. GRS-certified recycled options and fluorine-free finishing routes are available subject to material, process, and order requirements.

Applications of 4-Way Stretch Fabric

Our woven four-way stretch fabrics are engineered for garments and textile products that require multidirectional movement, reliable recovery, and a clean fitted appearance.
  • Activewear and yoga wear: Leggings, training pants, sports bras, fitted tops, and compression garments requiring flexibility and shape retention.
  • Outdoor apparel: Hiking trousers, softshell jackets, cycling clothing, and travel wear requiring abrasion resistance, mobility, and optional water-repellent finishing.
  • Fashion apparel: Dresses, skirts, blouses, fitted trousers, suits, and stretch satin garments that need comfort without sacrificing drape or surface appearance.
  • Uniforms and workwear: Service uniforms, medical clothing, and industrial garments designed for frequent movement and repeated laundering.
  • Swimwear and performance garments: Selected nylon/spandex and polyester/spandex constructions requiring high elasticity, smooth hand feel, and close body fit.
  • Bags, upholstery, and technical products: Applications requiring flexible woven structures, subject to the required strength, coating, and durability specifications.
For each project, we recommend confirming the target GSM, stretch percentage, recovery, width, end use, washing conditions, colorfastness standard, and destination-market compliance requirements before sampling.

Custom 4-Way Stretch Lycra Fabrics

Our stretch-fabric development service supports customized fiber compositions, constructions, colors, prints, finishes, hand feels, and performance requirements. Projects can be developed around your approved sample, technical specification, end-use requirements, or original design concept.

Sustainable Polyester Fabrics

Our sustainable polyester range uses recycled inputs such as plastic bottles and textile waste. Converting suitable waste materials into new textile fibers helps divert them from disposal while providing the durability, dimensional stability, and versatility expected from polyester fabrics. Depending on the selected construction and finish, sustainable polyester stretch fabrics can be developed for:
  • Yoga leggings, training tights, cycling shorts, and compression-inspired activewear
  • Running jackets, warm-up pants, golf trousers, and travel garments
  • Stretch woven uniforms and mobility-focused workwear
  • Swimwear, rash guards, and fitted watersports apparel
  • Performance dresses, fitted skirts, dance costumes, and stagewear
  • Lightweight bags, accessories, linings, and printed promotional products

Sustainable Nylon Fabrics

Sustainable nylon fabrics may use recycled plastics or plant-based fiber inputs. Certain sustainable nylon technologies are also designed to break down under specific environmental conditions rather than persist indefinitely in nature. The performance and environmental profile depend on the exact yarn, construction, dyeing process, and finish selected for the order. Nylon is frequently chosen where buyers require a smooth hand feel, abrasion resistance, low bulk, and reliable stretch performance. Suitable development directions include:
  • Premium yoga leggings and studio-to-street apparel
  • High-support sports bras and fitted training tops
  • Trail-running shorts and lightweight hiking trousers
  • Packable shells, wind-resistant layers, and outdoor mobility garments
  • Cycling apparel and close-fitting performance panels
  • Swimwear, surf apparel, and resort activewear
  • Durable stretch panels for bags, packs, and technical accessories
  • Intimate apparel and body-contouring garments

Custom-Made and Printed Lycra Fabrics

Our OEM service makes it possible to develop custom Lycra fabrics for specific garment designs, brand identities, and performance targets. Buyers can request colors, prints, surface effects, stretch characteristics, and other specifications according to their project requirements. Custom-made or printed Lycra fabrics can be used for:
  • Branded yoga and Pilates collections
  • Sublimation-printed teamwear and training apparel
  • Fashion leggings and digitally printed athleisure
  • Dancewear, gymnastics leotards, and performance costumes
  • Swimwear and coordinated resort collections
  • Maternity garments and adaptive clothing requiring flexible fit
  • Form-fitting dresses, bodysuits, and stretch fashion separates
  • Private-label capsule collections and limited-edition colorways

Strategic Fabric Sourcing in Wujiang, Suzhou

Located in the heart of Wujiang District, Suzhou, we sit at the center of one of the world’s most concentrated textile hubs. FabricsTrades owns a 4-way stretch fabric factory, but our capabilities extend beyond the output of our own looms. We operate as a strategic sourcing partner with direct access to thousands of specialized weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, coating, and finishing factories throughout the region. This allows us to match a project with the production route best suited to its construction, performance, appearance, volume, and target cost. If a fabric exists, we can find it. If it does not, we can help you create it. For development inquiries, buyers should provide as much of the following information as possible:
  • Intended garment or finished-product application
  • Composition de fibres requise
  • Poids du tissu et largeur utile
  • Two-way or four-way stretch requirements
  • Stretch percentage and recovery expectations
  • Construction tissée ou tricotée
  • Color standard, lab-dip reference, or print artwork
  • Required hand feel and surface appearance
  • Moisture-management, water-repellent, coating, or other finish
  • Recycled-content or certification requirements
  • Destination market and required test standards
  • Quantité commandée et calendrier de livraison

Why Choose FabricsTrades as Your Stretch Fabric OEM?

Manufacturing and Sourcing Under One Service

Our own 4-way stretch fabric production experience gives us practical knowledge of yarn selection, weaving, dyeing, finishing, stretch behavior, dimensional stability, and production control. Our wider Wujiang sourcing network adds access to specialized constructions and processes that may not be available from a single mill.

Développement personnalisé

We support projects based on buyer specifications, physical samples, print artwork, color references, or end-use performance requirements. Development can include adjustments to composition, weight, width, elasticity, recovery, texture, color, print, coating, and finish.

Sustainable Material Options

Our listed range includes sustainable polyester, sustainable nylon, and custom-made or printed sustainable fabrics. Certification and recycled-content requirements should be confirmed for the specific fabric, production route, and order rather than assumed from the general fiber category.

Modern Production Facility

Our facility uses modern production processes, technology, concepts, and manufacturing practices. We work to comply with applicable sustainable fabric manufacturing standards and provide buyers with high-quality, environmentally conscious textile options.

Lead Times for Stock and Custom Orders

If a fabric is in stock, the lead time is 2–7 days. If it is not in stock, manufacturing generally takes approximately 4–6 weeks. Shipping usually requires an additional 1–2 weeks, depending on the destination country. Actual timing should be confirmed for each order because custom yarns, lab-dip approval, printing, special finishes, testing, production volume, and seasonal capacity can affect the schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does GRS certification mean recycled four-way stretch fabric is automatically PFAS-compliant?

No. GRS supports verification of recycled content, chain of custody, and processing requirements, while PFAS compliance depends on the finished fabric’s chemistry and the rules of the destination market. For treated fabric, request the relevant GRS Transaction Certificate, a chemical declaration confirming whether PFAS was intentionally added, and current third-party testing based on the buyer’s restricted-substance specification.

What compliance documents should we request with a bulk order?

Request the supplier’s valid GRS Scope Certificate and a Transaction Certificate covering the shipped material when a GRS product claim is required. The lot file should also include fiber composition, batch and roll references, colorfastness and dimensional-stability results, stretch-and-recovery data, and destination-specific chemical test reports. Water-repellent constructions may additionally require targeted PFAS and total-fluorine screening.

Can a PFAS-free finish affect the stretch or recovery of the fabric?

Yes, if the finish add-on or curing conditions are poorly controlled. Excessive polymer deposition can stiffen the hand, restrict yarn movement, and reduce extension, while excessive stenter temperature or dwell time can accelerate spandex degradation. Before shipment, we compare approved lab dips with bulk lots and test warp and weft stretch, recovery, shrinkage, fabric weight, and performance after laundering.
